Educator Cards are made available to teachers or others who live or work in Ohio and whose employment requires a collection of library materials for use in a classroom or other educational setting. Educator Cards are valid for one year.
Qualified applicants must live or work in Ohio in one or more of the following positions:
We are unable to provide an Educator Card for volunteers, or to anyone whose personal library card has been stopped because of overdue materials or excessive fines.
When you apply for an Educator Card, you must bring written proof of your employment at the school or institution, as well as proof of home address.
Only one Educator Card will be issued per teacher, or per home school household.
The Educator Card may be used only for materials intended for a classroom or other educational setting.
Library staff will compile
Please be as specific as possible, providing complete title and author information to ensure receiving the correct material.
Please allow 2 weeks for a collection to be compiled.
All requests are subject to availability and substitution may be necessary due to demands from other teachers, schools and customers.
Teachers requesting preparation of collections should confirm pickup dates at the time requests are made.
Collections will be held for a week after the scheduled pickup date. If two collections are not picked up as scheduled, no collections will be prepared by Library staff during the remaining school year.
Please be advised to bring a helper to carry the collection to your car.
