Library Cards

--------------------------------------------------

Reading is key to every child's future success. Getting your child a library card is an important step, and using the Library together will further encourage your child's development of a lifetime love of reading.

Library cards are free to all residents of Ohio and are valid for three years. Residents of Boone, Campbell, and Kenton Counties (Kentucky) and Dearborn County (Indiana) who have a valid library card from their local public library may also get a free card, which is valid for one year.

Children may use their library cards to check out books, magazines, CDs, CD-ROMs, and audiobooks. An Adult Card (available to anyone 18 or older) is needed to borrow videos, DVDs, and restricted adult materials. Restricted adult material material may be borrowed if a parent or legal guardian completes a Parental Authorization form, which is available at all Library agencies.

A library card gives you full borrowing privileges at any Library agency and full access to our catalog and the Library's collection of Research Databases. We hope you and your child will visit the Library often and take advantage of its many wonderful resources!
